Woodbridge grew up around the Humber River. The old village on Woodbridge Avenue, between Islington and Kipling Avenues, dates back to Rowland Burr’s mills in the 1830s and is now a Heritage Conservation District. From the 1950s the suburbs spread out from there. The City counts ten new subdivisions between 1951 and 1956 alone, then decades of growth west toward Highway 27 and north to Rutherford Road, and later Sonoma Heights and Vellore. A 1960s side-split and a 2005 two-storey can sit a few streets apart, with very different laundry rooms, vent runs and kitchens.

Can you fix a second fridge in the garage or basement?
Yes, we repair second fridges and freezers the same way as the one in the kitchen. If a garage fridge only struggles in winter, the cold garage may be the cause rather than a fault.
My basement dryer takes forever. Is it the dryer or the vent?
In basement installs, it’s often the vent: a long run, too many bends or lint build-up. Go outside while it runs and feel for strong, warm airflow at the hood. If it’s weak, the vent needs cleaning or rerouting. We do both, and check the dryer at the same visit.
Is the water in Woodbridge hard on appliances?
