LG appliances we repair

Every LG in your home, one local team

LG makes a lot of the washers, fridges and stoves in Vaughan homes, and most of them tell you something is wrong with a short code on the display. That's helpful, because a code points us to the right system before we even open the machine. Write the code down, then call or book online, and we'll take it from there.

We repair LG washers, dryers (including WashTower units), fridges, dishwashers, stoves, wall ovens, cooktops, microwaves and range hoods. Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. You get the price before any work starts, and completed repairs include our 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty. Call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM.

Refrigerators

LG Fridge Problems We Fix

We repair LG fridges, including linear and inverter linear compressor models, and we check the simpler, cheaper causes before the compressor.

Fridge Not Cooling, Freezer Still Cold
Likely cause
The evaporator fan, or a coil frosted over by a defrost fault. If the fan stops, cold air never reaches the fridge side.
Try this first
Check that the doors close fully and nothing is pressed against the vents. With the freezer door open, press the door switch and listen for the fan.
When to call Aria
If the fan is silent or the freezer starts warming too, book a visit. Those two details tell us a lot before we arrive.
Both Sections Warming Up
Likely cause
Dirty condenser coils, the start and control parts that run the compressor, or on some models the linear compressor itself.
Try this first
Check that the fridge is plugged in, the breaker is on and the temperature wasn't turned up. Keep the doors closed.
When to call Aria
We test the simple parts first and the compressor last. If LG linear compressor repair is needed, we tell you the cost plainly so you can compare it with a new fridge.
Ice Maker Not Making Ice
Likely cause
A frozen fill tube, a failed inlet valve, or frost around the ice maker fan on in-door ice makers.
Try this first
Make sure the ice maker is switched on, the water filter isn't overdue and the freezer is cold enough. LG recommends about −20 °C for ice making, and a new install can take 24 hours.
When to call Aria
If ice still won't come, book a visit.
Frost on the Back Wall
Likely cause
Frost on the coil from a defrost fault, which blocks the airflow.
Try this first
Check that both door seals close all the way around and nothing keeps a door ajar.
When to call Aria
Many fan problems come back to frost, which comes back to defrost. We fix the cause, not just the ice.

Good to know

While you wait for us: keep the doors closed and don't keep switching it off and on.

Stove & Oven

LG Stove and Oven Problems We Fix

We repair LG gas and smooth-top stoves, wall ovens and cooktops, including ProBake Convection models.

Smooth-Top Burner Not Heating
Likely cause
A failed element, or the switch or control behind it.
Try this first
Check the breaker, then try another element on the same setting to see if it's one element or the whole cooktop.
When to call Aria
We test the element and controls before replacing anything.
Oven Slow to Preheat or Baking Unevenly
Likely cause
A bake element, the temperature sensor or the convection fan. On ProBake Convection models the element sits at the back wall with the fan, so an oven that only heats from the bottom points there.
Try this first
Give it the full preheat, check the right cooking mode is set, and make sure delay start isn't on.
When to call Aria
A stove that shuts off mid-bake, a blank display, or an oven light that works while the oven stays cold are all worth a call.
Gas Burner Clicks but Won't Light
Likely cause
Usually a wet or misaligned burner cap, or a weak igniter.
Try this first
Once it's cool, dry the burner cap and seat it flat.
When to call Aria
If it still won't light, we test the igniter. We repair weak oven igniters too. If you smell gas, leave it off and call your gas utility first.
Oven Door Stuck Locked After Self-Clean
Likely cause
The oven keeps the door locked until it's safe, or the lock motor or control has failed.
Try this first
Let the oven cool fully. It unlocks on its own once it's safe.
When to call Aria
If it still won't unlock when it's cold, the door lock motor or the control needs testing.
Pot on a cold, dark cooktop element next to a glowing one

Good to know

Many LG stoves have EasyClean, a short low-heat cleaning cycle, and some also have a full self-clean.

LG wall ovens and cooktops get the same approach: we test the element, sensor and controls before replacing anything.

Washers

LG Washer Problems We Fix

We repair LG front-load washers, and their clear error codes help us bring the right part.

Washer Not Draining
Likely cause
A clogged drain pump filter, a kinked hose, or a pump that has failed.
Try this first
Clean the pump filter. It sits behind the small cover at the bottom front. Put a towel down first. Then check the drain hose isn't kinked.
When to call Aria
If it still won't drain, the pump needs testing.
Washer Leaking at the Front
Likely cause
The door seal, or the dispenser bellows hose, which carries water and detergent from the drawer to the tub.
Try this first
Check the door seal for tears or trapped clothing, and use HE detergent at the recommended amount.
When to call Aria
Front leaks are often blamed on the door seal, so we check both.
Door Won't Lock or Washer Won't Start
Likely cause
The washer can't confirm the door is closed and locked, usually from a worn door lock.
Try this first
Check nothing is caught in the door and close it firmly. If it still won't start, unplug it for a minute and try again.
When to call Aria
A worn door lock is a common repair.
Washer Shaking or Loud in Spin
Likely cause
An uneven load or unlevel feet, or on a balanced load, worn shock absorbers or drum bearings.
Try this first
Spread the load out evenly, and check the washer sits level and firm on all four feet.
When to call Aria
A loud roar on a balanced load usually means bearings, which is a repair.

Good to know

Leave the door and drawer open between loads, use HE detergent sparingly, and run Tub Clean about once a month.

Dryers

LG Dryer Problems We Fix

We repair LG electric and gas dryers, including WashTower models, and most calls come down to airflow, heat or the moisture sensor.

Dryer Taking Too Long to Dry
Likely cause
A restricted vent. Many LG dryers show a Flow Sense warning when the exhaust is blocked: it's a reminder to clean the vent, not a broken part.
Try this first
Clean the lint filter, the vent hose and the outside flap. A long or hard-to-reach vent is a job for a vent cleaning company.
When to call Aria
If the warning stays after that, the blower fan may need a look from us.
Dryer Not Heating
Likely cause
Often a temperature sensor, or a thermal fuse, heating element or gas igniter.
Try this first
Check the breaker, make sure it isn't on an air-dry setting, and clean the lint filter, since a blocked vent makes a dryer run hot.
When to call Aria
If it still won't heat, we test the parts and check the vent too.
Clothes Still Damp When the Cycle Ends
Likely cause
Fabric softener residue can make the dryer think the clothes are already dry.
Try this first
Clean the moisture sensor bars in the drum with a little rubbing alcohol.
When to call Aria
If that doesn't help, the sensor or control needs testing.
Dryer Won't Start
Likely cause
The door switch, a thermal fuse or the control board.
Try this first
Check the breaker, that the door is fully closed, and that Child Lock isn't on.
When to call Aria
We rule out the door switch and thermal fuse before the board.

Seeing a code? See LG dryer codes

Good to know

WashTower and stacked units: the vent connection sits high, so check the hose wasn't crushed when the unit was pushed back. We repair both halves on one visit.

LG dryer repair cost depends on the part, and you'll know it before we start.

Dishwashers

LG Dishwasher Problems We Fix

We repair LG built-in dishwashers, including QuadWash models, and their drain and leak codes tell us where to start.

Dishwasher Not Draining
Likely cause
A clogged filter, a kinked drain hose or a new disposal's knockout plug.
Try this first
Clean the filter in the bottom of the tub, check the drain hose under the sink for kinks, and make sure a new disposal's knockout plug was removed.
When to call Aria
If it still won't drain, the drain pump needs testing.
Dishwasher Leaking or Showing a Leak Warning
Likely cause
Water has reached the base and tripped the leak float. Suds from regular dish soap are a common cause, and so are worn door gaskets and loose hoses.
Try this first
Switch it off, wipe up the water and use dishwasher detergent only. The warning can stay on until the base dries out.
When to call Aria
If it comes back, book a check.
Dishes Coming Out Dirty or Wet
Likely cause
Low rinse aid, blocked spray arms or a clogged filter.
Try this first
Top up the rinse aid, clean the filter, and check the spray arms spin freely and tall items don't block them.
When to call Aria
If it still won't clean or dry, book a visit.
Dishwasher Won't Start
Likely cause
A dish or rack in the way of the door, Child Lock or delay start, or a worn latch or door switch.
Try this first
Check the door closes without forcing it, and that Child Lock and delay start are off.
When to call Aria
If nothing is in the way, the latch or door switch needs testing.

Seeing a code? See LG dishwasher codes

Open dishwasher with cloudy water pooled around the filter

Good to know

LG dishwasher filters are easy to twist out and rinse under the tap. Doing it once a month prevents many drain codes.

On many LG dishwashers, the inner filter and the stainless steel mesh filter lift out together and separate for rinsing. LG suggests cleaning them at least monthly in hard-water areas. A white film on dishes is usually hard water or too little rinse aid, not a fault.

Microwaves · Range hoods

LG Microwave and Range Hood Problems We Fix

We repair LG over-the-range and built-in microwaves and LG range hoods.

Microwave Not Heating
Likely cause
Door switches and internal fuses are common causes.
Try this first
Check the breaker and that the door closes firmly, then heat a cup of water on high for one minute to confirm it isn't heating.
When to call Aria
Please don't open the housing yourself, since microwaves can hold a charge after unplugging.
Turntable Grinding or Not Turning
Likely cause
A worn roller ring or coupler, which is a simple fix, or the turntable motor.
Try this first
Lift out the tray and roller ring, clean them and seat them again.
When to call Aria
If it still grinds or won't turn, the motor needs testing.
Vent Fan Turning On by Itself
Likely cause
On many LG over-the-range microwaves, a heat sensor turns the fan on when the cooktop below gets hot, to protect the unit.
Try this first
Let the cooktop cool fully. The fan stops once things cool.
When to call Aria
If it won't stop with a cold cooktop, the sensor or control needs testing.
Range Hood Fan or Lights Not Working
Likely cause
A clogged filter, a worn motor, a failed light or a control fault.
Try this first
Clean the grease filters first. Most metal filters can go through the dishwasher.
When to call Aria
If it's still not right with clean filters, the motor or control needs testing.
Open microwave with a bowl of cold soup on the turntable

Good to know

On LG hoods that have a delay-off setting, a fan that keeps running for a few minutes after you switch it off is normal.

On recirculating setups, replace the charcoal filter, or the vent stops clearing smoke and smells.

Error codes

LG Error Codes by Appliance

Codes vary by model, so treat this as a guide for many models, not every one.

Er IF

Ice maker fan problem

Often ice around the fan.

Er FF

Freezer fan isn't running properly

Commonly because it's iced over. This is a frequent cause of an LG side-by-side freezer not working well.

Er dH

Defrost system failed

Frost builds up on the coil. Many fan codes come back to frost, which comes back to defrost.

When to call

We fix the cause, not just the ice.

OE

Not draining

What to try

Clean the drain pump filter behind the small cover at the bottom front. Put towels down first, and check the drain hose isn't kinked.

When to call

Still OE? The pump needs testing.

IE

Water inlet problem

What to try

Open both taps fully, check the hoses for kinks, and check the screens where they connect.

UE

Unbalanced load

Often one heavy item.

What to try

Redistribute and restart.

When to call

If it keeps happening on normal loads, the suspension or shocks may be worn.

LE

Motor locked

Overloading can trigger it.

When to call

On a normal load, the motor or its sensor needs a technician.

tE

Heating error

Usually a faulty temperature sensor, sometimes the heater.

What to try

Power it off for a minute and retry.

When to call

If tE returns, it needs testing.

dE

Door lock

What to try

Check nothing is caught in the door and close it firmly.

When to call

A worn door lock is a common repair.

d80 / d90 / d95

Vent about 80%, 90% or 95% blocked (Flow Sense)

LG calls these safety alerts, not dryer faults: the dryer runs longer and hotter, and a blocked vent is a fire risk.

What to try

Clean the lint filter, the vent hose and the outside flap.

When to call

If the code stays after that, the blower fan may need a look from us.

tE1

Temperature sensor problem

The dryer may stop heating or shut off.

When to call

We test and replace it.

LG Dishwasher Codes

See dishwasher problems
OE

Not draining

What to try

Clean the filter in the bottom of the tub, check the drain hose under the sink for kinks, and make sure a new disposal's knockout plug was removed.

When to call

If it still won't drain, the drain pump needs testing.

AE / E1

Leak detected

Water has reached the base and tripped the leak float.

When to call

Switch it off and book a check.

Fridge

LG Fridge: Frost on the Back Wall

A defrost fault lets frost build up on the coil and block the airflow, which can stall the fan and warm the fridge side, often with an Er FF or Er dH code. The fix is repairing the defrost fault, not just melting the ice.

Age & condition

Our 2 year old Electrolux washing machine started glitching and would stop and display several error codes during the drain cycle (full of water and wet clothes). I called Electrolux and their technician determined that the drain pump needed to be replaced, but it would have taken about a week for them to receive the part and come back to install it.

We decided to call Joe at Aria Appliance Repair after a friend recommended him. Joe came out, tested the pump, got the washer to drain and found that the pump was actually working. He spent more time testing the machine and eventually determined that the main control board was the problem. He came back the next day with the new board, installed it, and tested the washer twice to make sure everything was working properly.

I've since run several loads with no issues. We were really impressed with Joe's knowledge and troubleshooting. He was able to properly diagnose the problem when the manufactures technician had misdiagnosed it. Definitely recommend Joe and Aria Appliance Repair.

What does OE mean on my LG washer?
On many models, OE means the washer isn't draining. Turn it off, put towels down, and clean the drain pump filter behind the small panel at the bottom front. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe. If OE keeps coming back after that, the drain pump needs testing by a technician.
What does tE mean on an LG washer?
On many models, tE is a heating error, usually caused by a faulty temperature sensor. The heater itself can also cause it. Turn the washer off for a minute and try again. If tE returns, it needs testing. On one recent Woodbridge job, testing pointed past the sensor to the main control board, and we quoted it so the homeowner could decide.
What do IE, UE, LE and dE mean on an LG washer?
On many models, IE means a water inlet problem, so check the taps and hoses. UE means an unbalanced load, so redistribute it. LE means the motor is locked, often from overloading. dE means the door lock isn't confirming, so check nothing is caught in the door. If any of these keep coming back on normal loads, book a visit.
My LG washer leaks from the front. Is it the door seal?
Sometimes, but not always. On a recent Woodbridge job, an LG front-loader was leaking from the front, and the cause was the dispenser bellows hose, the rubber hose that carries water and detergent from the drawer into the tub. We replaced it. Because front leaks are often blamed on the seal, we check the seal, the bellows and the drawer.
Why is my LG fridge with a linear compressor not cooling?
The compressor can be the cause, but often it isn't. We check the simpler, cheaper things first: the evaporator fan, frost on the coil from a defrost fault, dirty condenser coils, and the start and control parts. Only once those check out do we test the compressor and sealed system. Then we give you the cost plainly, so you can decide.
What do Er FF, Er IF and Er dH mean on an LG fridge?
On many models, Er FF means the freezer fan isn't running properly, often because it's iced over. Er IF points to the ice maker fan, and Er dH means the defrost system has failed. Many fan codes trace back to frost, and frost traces back to defrost. We fix the underlying cause, not just the ice.
What do d80, d90 and d95 mean on my LG dryer?
On many models, these are Flow Sense warnings that the dryer vent is about 80%, 90% or 95% blocked. LG treats them as safety alerts, not dryer faults. Clean the lint filter, then check the vent hose behind the dryer and the outside flap. If the vent is long or hard to reach, a vent cleaning company is the right call.
What do OE and AE mean on an LG dishwasher?
On many models, OE means the dishwasher isn't draining. Clean the filter, check the drain hose under the sink, and make sure a new disposal's knockout plug was removed. AE, or E1 on some models, means water has reached the base and tripped the leak float. Switch it off and book a check, since the source of the water needs finding.
Is it worth repairing an LG appliance?
Most LG repairs are a single part: a pump, a door lock, a bellows hose, a fan or a temperature sensor, and those are usually worth fixing. A simple rule: if the repair costs less than about half of a comparable new appliance, repair it. The bigger calls are sealed-system fridge work or a main control board. We price it first, so you decide.
How much does LG repair cost?
Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. After testing, you get the exact repair price before any work starts. Installing a new LG appliance starts from $129. We accept cards, debit, cash, PayPal and Apple Pay, and completed repairs carry our 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty.
Can you get parts for my LG washer or fridge?
Our technician pins down the exact LG part and gives you the repair price before any work. If it's a part that needs ordering, such as a control board, we tell you the timing up front and book a second visit that suits you. Keep your model number handy. On LG washers, it's usually on a label inside the door frame.
How do I book LG repair near me?

We serve all of Vaughan, including Woodbridge, Maple, Kleinburg, Concord and Thornhill. If you're outside Vaughan, call to confirm your address.
