Kenmore Dryer: No Power
Problem
The dryer had no power.
What we did
We found the door switch wasn’t working and replaced it. The cabinet was full of lint from poor airflow, so we vacuumed out the cabinet and the exhaust line.

Washer repairGeneral patterns, as described on each service page. These aren’t statistics.

Water left in the bottom, dirty dishes or cycles that won’t finish.
A dishwasher that can’t drain often won’t move on to the next stage of its cycle. We check the filter, the hose and the sink connection before replacing the drain pump.
Most repairs: about $130–$340

Not heating, uneven baking or burners that won’t light.
Usually a bake element, an igniter or a temperature sensor. A bake element can fail with or without a visible blister.
Most repairs: about $130–$350

Not draining, not spinning or leaking.
A pump, a door seal, a hose or the suspension. Leaks don’t always come from the door. A split internal hose, like a dispenser bellows, can leak inside the cabinet.
Most repairs: about $150–$350

No heat, slow drying or a drum that won’t turn.
Often airflow first, then a fuse, element or igniter, or a belt. Small items like socks can slip past the lint screen into the blower, as on the Electrolux job above. We also clean dryer vent ducts.
Most repairs: about $130–$320

A warm fridge with a cold freezer, frost or leaks.
A fan, a defrost part or a valve.
Most repairs: about $120–$550
Every job on this page followed the same four steps, and so will yours.

What did you notice, when did it start, and has anything changed, such as a power outage, a move or a new kind of load? It’s often the most useful information we get.
Electrolux Dryer: Won’t Start

We confirm the cause with the appliance in front of us before ordering or fitting a part. Error codes and symptoms point us in a direction, but testing tells us what actually failed.
KitchenAid Oven: Not Heating

You get the parts and labour price before anything is replaced, and if a repair doesn’t make sense, we’ll say so.
Washer: Not Draining

After every repair, we test-run the appliance to make sure it’s working before we leave.
