Sub-Zero refrigeration we repair

Sub-Zero refrigeration, cared for properly

Sub-Zero refrigeration is built in and built to last, so most problems are worth fixing. Many Sub-Zero cooling problems start with a dusty condenser, and Sub-Zero recommends cleaning it every six to twelve months. A flashing Service or Vacuum Condenser message, or a wrench icon on older built-ins, tells us where to start. Note what the display shows before you call.

We repair Sub-Zero Classic built-in fridges, Designer integrated refrigerator and freezer columns, wine storage, undercounter refrigerators, drawers, beverage centres and ice makers. Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. You get the price before any work starts, and completed repairs include our 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty. Call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM.

Sub-Zero Built-In Refrigerator Repair

We repair Sub-Zero Classic built-in fridges, including French-door, side-by-side and over-and-under models, and Designer refrigerator columns.

Service or Vacuum Condenser Flashing
Likely cause
The control has seen the compressor running too long, often from a dusty condenser, a door that isn't closing, or a real cooling fault.
Try this first
Check the temperatures. If they're close to normal, vacuum the condenser, check the doors close, then switch the breaker off for 30 seconds.
When to call Aria
If temperatures are rising or the light comes back, book a visit.
Fridge Warm or Running Constantly
Likely cause
A dusty condenser, a failed condenser or evaporator fan, a defrost fault, or a sealed-system problem.
Try this first
Clean the condenser with a soft brush or vacuum (behind the top grille on Classic models, behind the kickplate on Designer columns). Keep the doors closed.
When to call Aria
If it's above 4 °C after a day, book a visit.
Ice Maker Not Making Ice
Likely cause
The ice maker is switched off, an overdue water filter, a frozen fill tube, or a failed inlet valve.
Try this first
Check the ice maker is on and the filter isn't overdue. Make sure the water valve to the fridge is open.
When to call Aria
If ice still won't come after a day, book a visit.
Door Alarm or Door Not Sealing
Likely cause
Something blocking the door, a worn gasket, or a door that needs adjusting.
Try this first
Check shelves and bins aren't stopping the door, and that the gasket isn't torn or folded.
When to call Aria
If the door won't seal or the alarm keeps sounding, book a visit.

Freezer Not Cold Enough
Likely cause
A dusty condenser, a door or drawer that isn't sealing, a failed fan, or a defrost fault.
Try this first
Clean the condenser, keep the door closed, and make sure nothing is stopping the drawer or door from closing.
When to call Aria
If food is softening, move it somewhere cold and book a visit.
Frost Building Up
Likely cause
A door that isn't sealing, a worn gasket, or a failed defrost heater or sensor.
Try this first
Check the gasket for tears and make sure the door or drawer closes all the way.
When to call Aria
If frost keeps building on the back wall, book a visit.
Ice Maker Slow or Jammed
Likely cause
An overdue water filter, low water pressure, or ice clumped in the bin.
Try this first

When to call Aria
If it still won't make ice, book a visit.
Freezer Noisy
Likely cause
A fan touching frost or ice, or a worn fan motor.

When to call Aria
If it rattles, squeals or grinds, book a visit.

Repair or replace

Repair or Replace Your Sub-Zero?

A simple rule of thumb, then the factors that change it. More on this: repair or replace your appliance.

Repair cost as a share of a comparable new Sub-Zero
Under about halfand the rest in good shape: repair it.
Over about half, or other problems building upIt's a bigger decision. We give you the price so you can weigh it up.

Age & condition

An older appliance with several problems is a different call from a reliable one with a single failure.

Type of failure

Most Sub-Zero repairs we see are a single part: a fan, a defrost part, an ice maker, an inlet valve, a sensor or a control.

The big-ticket parts

Compressor or sealed-system work, which we quote separately after diagnosis.

The price, first

We give you the price first, so you can decide with real numbers.

Sub-Zero units are built to last for decades and are fitted to your cabinetry, so repair is almost always the better value. If replacing makes more sense, we also do installation from $129.

the problem was that the oven was not reaching the set temperature and would not go any higher than 320°. I called, and a technician showed up the same day, quickly diagnosed it, and came back the next day with the parts and replaced the bake element. Fast, fair-priced, and friendly. 😊

Aria appliances Technician was very knowledgeable and saved me from buying new dishwasher and save me $$$$ by fixing my Dishwasher quickly and it runs great. Thank you Aria Appliance team

Our 2 year old Electrolux washing machine started glitching and would stop and display several error codes during the drain cycle (full of water and wet clothes). I called Electrolux and their technician determined that the drain pump needed to be replaced, but it would have taken about a week for them to receive the part and come back to install it.

We decided to call Joe at Aria Appliance Repair after a friend recommended him. Joe came out, tested the pump, got the washer to drain and found that the pump was actually working. He spent more time testing the machine and eventually determined that the main control board was the problem. He came back the next day with the new board, installed it, and tested the washer twice to make sure everything was working properly.

I've since run several loads with no issues. We were really impressed with Joe's knowledge and troubleshooting. He was able to properly diagnose the problem when the manufactures technician had misdiagnosed it. Definitely recommend Joe and Aria Appliance Repair.

Why is Service flashing on my Sub-Zero?
It usually means the compressor has been running too long. If the temperatures are close to normal, vacuum the condenser, check the doors close, then switch the breaker off for 30 seconds. If temperatures are rising or the light comes back, book a visit.
What does Vacuum Condenser mean on my Sub-Zero?
It's a reminder to clean the condenser. Sub-Zero recommends cleaning it every six to twelve months with a soft brush or vacuum. On Classic models it's behind the top grille. On Designer columns, it's behind the kickplate.
What does the wrench icon mean on my older Sub-Zero?
On older Classic built-in (BI) models, a wrench icon with a chime means the unit logged a major fault. Switch the breaker off for 30 seconds. If it comes back, book a visit.
What does dO Or mean on my Sub-Zero?
On older Classic built-in models, dO Or means a door was open too long. Close it firmly. The panel may not respond for a few minutes. If it keeps showing with the door shut, book a visit.
Why is my Sub-Zero fridge warm?
Often it's a dusty condenser, a failed fan or a defrost fault. Clean the condenser and keep the doors closed. If it's above 4 °C after a day, book a visit.
Why is my Sub-Zero ice maker not working?
Check the ice maker is on, the filter isn't overdue and the water valve is open. A frozen fill tube or failed inlet valve are common causes. If ice still won't come after a day, book a visit.
Do you repair Sub-Zero columns and panel-ready units?
Yes. We repair Sub-Zero Designer refrigerator and freezer columns, panel-ready undercounter units and drawers, and we protect your panels and cabinetry while we work.
Do you repair Sub-Zero wine storage?
Yes. We repair Sub-Zero wine columns and undercounter wine storage that won't hold temperature, fog up or get noisy.
Is it worth repairing a Sub-Zero?
Almost always. Sub-Zero units are built to last and fitted to your cabinetry, and most repairs are a single part. Sealed-system work costs more, and we quote it after diagnosis so you can decide.
How much does Sub-Zero repair cost?
Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. Most Sub-Zero repairs land in the few hundreds, depending on the part. Sealed-system work is quoted separately. You get the exact price before any work starts. We accept cards, debit, cash, PayPal and Apple Pay, and completed repairs carry our 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty.
Can you get parts for my Sub-Zero?
Yes. Sub-Zero parts are model-specific, so we confirm your model and serial number first. If a part needs ordering, we tell you the timing up front and book a second visit that suits you.
How do I book Sub-Zero repair near me?
Book online by choosing your appliance, a day and an arrival window, or call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM.
