Refrigerators

Frigidaire Fridge Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire top-freezer, side-by-side and French-door fridges, starting with the simple causes.

Frost Building Up in the Freezer
Likely cause
A door or drawer that isn't sealing, or a defrost heater, sensor or control that has failed. Heavy frost can stop the fan, and some models then show SY EF.
Try this first
Check the freezer door or drawer closes all the way, the seal isn't folded and nothing is stopping it closing.
When to call Aria
If frost keeps building on the back wall, book a visit. We fix the defrost cause, not just the ice.
Fridge Warm, Freezer Still Cold
Likely cause
The evaporator fan, or frost on the coil blocking cold air from reaching the fridge side.
Try this first
Make sure food isn't pressed against the vents and the doors close fully. A fridge thermometer on a middle shelf tells you the real temperature.
When to call Aria
If it's above 4 °C after a day, book a visit.
SY EF or SY CE on the Display
Likely cause
On many models, SY EF points to the evaporator fan and SY CE to a communication fault between the boards.
Try this first
Turn the fridge off at the breaker or unplug it for a few minutes, then power it back on and check the doors close fully.
When to call Aria
If the code returns, book a visit. Write down the code exactly.
Ice Maker Not Making Ice
Likely cause
A frozen fill tube, a failed water inlet valve, or an ice maker that has stopped cycling.
Try this first
Check the ice maker is switched on, the water filter isn't overdue and the supply valve behind the fridge is open.
When to call Aria
If ice still won't come after a day, book a visit.

Thick frost on the back wall of a bottom freezer drawer

Good to know

On top-freezer and side-by-side models, frost on the freezer's back wall usually points to a defrost fault. Note it when you book.

Most fridge repairs we do land around $120–$550, depending on the part. You get the exact price before any work starts.

Stove & Oven

Frigidaire Stove and Oven Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire and Frigidaire Gallery electric, gas and induction stoves, wall ovens and cooktops, including air fry and convection models.

Oven Baking Unevenly or Running Hot
Likely cause
The oven temperature sensor, a failing element, the convection fan, or a door seal that isn't closing well.
Try this first
Use the rack position the recipe calls for, don't line the oven floor with foil, and check the door seal isn't torn.
When to call Aria
If food is still burning on one side or baking far off the set temperature, book a visit.
Oven Not Heating
Likely cause
A failed bake element, a weak gas oven igniter, or the temperature sensor.
Try this first
Check the breaker, make sure a delay start isn't set and try Broil to see if the top heats.
When to call Aria
If Bake stays cold, book a visit.
F10, F1, F30 or F90 Code
Likely cause
On many models, F10 means the oven ran too hot, F1 a keypad problem, F30 the oven sensor and F90 the door lock.
Try this first
Turn the stove off at the breaker for a few minutes, then try again.
When to call Aria
If the code comes back, write it down and book a visit. Don't use the oven while F10 shows.
Element or Burner Not Working
Likely cause
A failed element or its switch, or on gas stoves a wet cap or weak igniter. Induction zones need cookware a magnet sticks to.
Try this first
Try another element or burner at the same setting. On gas, dry and reseat the burner cap. On induction, test your pan with a fridge magnet.
When to call Aria
If it still won't heat, book a visit. If you smell gas, leave it off and call your gas utility first.

Seeing a code? See Frigidaire stove and oven codes

Tray of cookies burnt at the back and pale at the front on an oven rack

Good to know

Frigidaire wall ovens and cooktops get the same approach: we test the element, igniter, sensor and controls before replacing anything.

Most stove and oven repairs we do land around $130–$350, depending on the part. You get the exact price before any work starts.

Washers

Frigidaire Washer Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire top-load washers, including impeller and agitator models.

Washer Not Filling (E1)
Likely cause
Closed taps, kinked fill hoses, clogged inlet screens, or a failed water inlet valve.
Try this first
Open both taps all the way and straighten the hoses. Make sure the lid is closed.
When to call Aria
If E1 comes back with the taps fully open, book a visit.
Lid Won't Lock (E3)
Likely cause
Something caught under the lid, or a worn lid lock or switch.
Try this first
Close the lid firmly and check nothing is in the way, then unplug the washer for one minute and restart.
When to call Aria
A worn lid lock is a common repair. If E3 returns, book a visit.
Not Spinning or Not Draining
Likely cause
An unbalanced load, a kinked drain hose, a sock in the pump, or a worn drive part.
Try this first
Spread the load out, check the drain hose isn't kinked and run a Drain & Spin.
When to call Aria
If it still won't spin or drain, book a visit.
Too Many Suds or Washer Leaking
Likely cause
Too much detergent, a loose hose, or a pump or tub seal leak. Some models show F2 for too many suds.
Try this first
Use HE detergent and a little less of it, and check the hoses at the back are tight.
When to call Aria
If water still shows up after a normal load, book a visit.

Seeing a code? See Frigidaire washer codes

Dry clothes and a detergent pod sitting in the basket of a top-load washer that has not filled

Good to know

Washing one bulky item like a comforter on its own can stop the spin. Add a couple of towels to balance it.

Most washer repairs we do land around $150–$350, depending on the part. You get the exact price before any work starts.

Dryers

Frigidaire Dryer Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire electric and gas dryers, including stacked laundry centres.

Dryer Not Heating
Likely cause
On electric dryers, often a heating element or thermal fuse. On gas dryers, an igniter or gas valve coils.
Try this first
Check both breakers for an electric dryer, and the gas valve behind a gas dryer.
When to call Aria
We test and replace the failed part, and check the vent so it doesn't happen again.
Dryer Taking Too Long
Likely cause
Lint in the vent duct, a crushed duct, or an outside flap stuck shut with lint.
Try this first
Clean the lint screen, check the duct behind the dryer isn't crushed, and check the outside flap opens freely when the dryer runs.
When to call Aria
If the vent is clear and loads still take more than one cycle, book a visit. We check the heating parts and the sensors.
Drum Not Turning
Likely cause
A broken drive belt, a failed motor, or worn rollers.
Try this first
Check the door switch clicks when you close the door and nothing is wedged in the drum.
When to call Aria
If the motor hums but the drum won't turn, stop using it and book a visit.
Dryer Won't Start
Likely cause
The door switch, a thermal fuse, or the start switch or control.
Try this first
Make sure the door is fully shut and the breaker is on. Check a control lock isn't set.
When to call Aria
If it still won't start, book a visit.

Seeing a code? See Frigidaire dryer codes

Good to know

Electric dryers use two breakers, or one double breaker. If one side trips, the drum can still turn with no heat.

Most dryer repairs we do land around $130–$320, depending on the part. You get the exact price before any work starts.

Dishwashers

Frigidaire Dishwasher Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire and Frigidaire Gallery built-in dishwashers, including top-control and front-control models.

Water Left in the Bottom (i20)
Likely cause
A clogged filter, a kinked drain hose, a new disposal's knockout plug, or a drain pump that has failed.
Try this first
Twist out and rinse the filter, check the drain hose under the sink has a high loop and no kinks, and run the disposal first.
When to call Aria
If i20 keeps coming back, the drain pump needs testing.
Not Filling (i10)
Likely cause
The water supply valve under the sink is partly closed, or the inlet valve has failed.
Try this first
Check the supply valve under the sink is fully open and the hose isn't kinked.
When to call Aria
If i10 shows with the water on, book a visit.
Leak in the Base (i30)
Likely cause
Water has reached the base pan, from a loose fill line, a door gasket or too much suds.
Try this first
Use only dishwasher detergent, never dish soap, and check the door closes evenly.
When to call Aria
Switch it off and book a check, since the source of the water needs finding.
Dishes Not Getting Clean
Likely cause
A dirty filter, blocked spray arms, or cool water at the start.
Try this first
Clean the filter monthly, check the spray arms spin, and run the kitchen tap until it's hot before starting.
When to call Aria
If dishes still come out gritty, book a visit.

Good to know

Frigidaire filters twist out by hand, so rinsing them once a month prevents many drain and cleaning problems.

Microwaves · Range hoods

Frigidaire Microwave and Range Hood Problems We Fix

We repair Frigidaire, Gallery and Professional over-the-range and drawer microwaves, and Frigidaire under-cabinet and wall-mount range hoods.

Microwave Door Won't Close or It Won't Start
Likely cause
A broken door latch hook or a failed door switch, so the microwave thinks the door is open.
Try this first
Check nothing is caught in the door and the latch hooks aren't bent. On drawer models, make sure the drawer closes all the way.
When to call Aria
Book a visit. Door switches are a safety part, so please don't bypass them.
Microwave Runs but Doesn't Heat
Likely cause
A failed high-voltage diode, capacitor, magnetron or door switch.
Try this first
Heat a cup of water for one minute. If the light and turntable work but the water stays cold, stop using it.
When to call Aria
Microwaves hold a charge even when unplugged, so please don't open the cover. Book a visit.
Vent Fan or Light Not Working
Likely cause
A failed fan motor, a blown bulb or LED, or the control board.
Try this first
Clean the grease filters and try the fan on every speed. Replace the cooktop light bulb if it's a bulb type.
When to call Aria
If the fan or light still won't work, book a visit.
Hood Not Clearing Smoke
Likely cause
Clogged grease filters, a stuck damper, or an old charcoal filter on a recirculating setup.
Try this first
Soak the metal grease filters in hot soapy water, and replace the charcoal filter if your hood recirculates.
When to call Aria
If the fan sounds weak with clean filters, book a visit.

Our 2 year old Electrolux washing machine started glitching and would stop and display several error codes during the drain cycle (full of water and wet clothes). I called Electrolux and their technician determined that the drain pump needed to be replaced, but it would have taken about a week for them to receive the part and come back to install it.

We decided to call Joe at Aria Appliance Repair after a friend recommended him. Joe came out, tested the pump, got the washer to drain and found that the pump was actually working. He spent more time testing the machine and eventually determined that the main control board was the problem. He came back the next day with the new board, installed it, and tested the washer twice to make sure everything was working properly.

I've since run several loads with no issues. We were really impressed with Joe's knowledge and troubleshooting. He was able to properly diagnose the problem when the manufactures technician had misdiagnosed it. Definitely recommend Joe and Aria Appliance Repair.

What does SY EF mean on my Frigidaire fridge?
On many models, SY EF points to the evaporator fan, often because frost has built up around it. Power the fridge off for a few minutes, then back on, and check the doors close fully. If SY EF comes back, we test the fan and the defrost system and fix the cause.
Why is frost building up in my Frigidaire freezer?
Often a door or drawer isn't sealing, or the defrost heater, sensor or control has failed. Check the seal isn't folded and nothing stops the drawer closing. If frost keeps building on the back wall, book a visit, since we fix the defrost cause, not just the ice.
What do F10 and F30 mean on a Frigidaire oven?
On many models, F10 means the oven ran too hot and F30 points to the oven temperature sensor. Turn the stove off at the breaker for a few minutes and try again, and don't use the oven while F10 shows. If either code comes back, book a visit.
What does F90 mean on my Frigidaire oven?
On many models, F90 points to the door lock, often after a self-clean. Let the oven cool, then turn it off at the breaker for a few minutes. If the door still won't lock or unlock, book a visit. Please don't force the door.
Why is my Frigidaire oven baking unevenly?
Common causes are the oven temperature sensor, a failing element, the convection fan or a worn door seal. Use the rack position the recipe calls for and don't line the oven floor with foil. If food still burns on one side, we test the parts and replace what has failed.
What does i20 mean on a Frigidaire dishwasher?
On many models, i20 means the dishwasher didn't drain. Rinse the filter, check the drain hose under the sink has a high loop and no kinks, and make sure a new disposal's knockout plug was removed. If i20 keeps coming back, the drain pump needs testing.
What do E1 and E3 mean on a Frigidaire washer?
On many top-load models, E1 means the washer is taking too long to fill, so open both taps fully and check the hoses. E3 means the lid is open or the lid lock failed, so close it firmly and restart. If either code keeps coming back, book a visit.
Why is my Frigidaire dryer taking so long?
Most often lint in the vent duct, a crushed duct behind the dryer, or an outside flap stuck shut with lint. Clean the lint screen and check the duct and the outside flap while the dryer runs. If the vent is clear and loads still take more than one cycle, book a visit.
Is it worth repairing a Frigidaire appliance?
Most Frigidaire repairs are a single part: a sensor, an element, a fan, a lid lock or a pump, and those are usually worth fixing. A simple rule: if the repair costs less than about half of a comparable new appliance, repair it. The bigger calls are sealed-system fridge work or a main control board. We price it first, so you decide.
How much does Frigidaire repair cost?
Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. After testing, you get the exact repair price before any work starts. Installing a new Frigidaire appliance starts from $129. We accept cards, debit, cash, PayPal and Apple Pay, and completed repairs carry our 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty.
Can you get parts for my Frigidaire appliance?
Our technician pins down the exact Frigidaire part and gives you the repair price before any work. If a part needs ordering, such as a control board, we tell you the timing up front and book a second visit that suits you. Keep your model number handy. On Frigidaire fridges, it's usually on a label inside the fresh-food section.
How do I book Frigidaire repair near me?
Book online by choosing your appliance, a day and an arrival window, or call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM. We serve all of Vaughan, including Woodbridge, Maple, Kleinburg, Concord and Thornhill. If you're outside Vaughan, call to confirm your address.
