Refrigerators

KitchenAid Fridge Problems We Fix

We repair KitchenAid French-door, side-by-side, bottom-freezer and built-in fridges.

Fridge Not Cooling, Freezer Still Cold
Likely cause
An evaporator fan, or a coil frosted over by a defrost fault.
Try this first
Check that the freezer is still cold and nothing is blocking the vents at the back of the fridge.
When to call Aria
If the fridge side stays warm, book a visit, and keep the doors closed while you wait for us.
Ice Maker Not Making Ice
Likely cause
A frozen fill tube, or the inlet valve or ice maker itself.
Try this first
Make sure the ice maker is switched on, the water valve to the fridge is open, the line isn't kinked and the filter isn't overdue. The freezer needs to be around −18 to −15 °C.
When to call Aria
If those check out and there's still no ice, book a visit.
Frost or Water Pooling Inside
Likely cause
A blocked defrost drain or a failed defrost heater lets ice build up at the back and melt toward the front.
Try this first
Wipe up the water and check that the doors close and seal all the way around.
When to call Aria
If frost keeps building at the back, the defrost system needs testing.
Both Sections Warming Up
Likely cause
Cooling may be switched off, or a part has failed.
Try this first
Check the fridge is switched on. Some models need cooling turned back on after a power outage, and it can be switched off by accident during cleaning.
When to call Aria
If cooling is on and both sections stay warm, book a visit.
Open fridge with sweating bottles and softened butter

Good to know

For KitchenAid freezer repair, the same parts are usually involved: the evaporator fan, the defrost system, the door seal and the controls. Built-in fridges are heavy and fitted tight to the cabinets, so we service them in place wherever possible.

Stove & Oven

KitchenAid Stove and Oven Problems We Fix

We repair KitchenAid stoves, including Superba, built-in and gas models, plus wall ovens and cooktops.

Oven Not Heating or Not Reaching Temperature
Likely cause
A bake element or the temperature sensor. On gas stoves, often a weak igniter.
Try this first
Check the breaker first.
When to call Aria
If it still won't heat, we test the sensor and element before replacing anything.
Wall Oven Door Locked After Self-Clean
Likely cause
Self-clean runs far hotter than cooking, so a weak lock, thermal fuse or control can fail during it.
Try this first
Let the oven cool fully. The door unlocks on its own once it's safe.
When to call Aria
If it's still locked when cold, book a visit. On a double oven, tell us which cavity.
Gas Burner Clicks but Won't Light
Likely cause
Usually a wet or misaligned cap.
Try this first
Once it's cool, dry the cap and seat it flat.
When to call Aria
If it still won't light, we test the igniter or spark module. If you smell gas, leave it off and call your gas utility first.
Smooth-Top or Induction Zone Not Working
Likely cause
A zone that won't heat or won't switch off, or touch controls that lock.
Try this first
Induction needs a pan a magnet sticks to. Check the control lock is off.
When to call Aria
If a zone won't switch off, turn the cooktop off at the breaker and book a visit.

Seeing a code? See KitchenAid stove and oven codes

Good to know

Single, double and combination KitchenAid wall ovens use the same codes on many models. We fix ovens that won't hold temperature, doors locked after self-clean, cooling fans that won't stop and blank displays. We work carefully around your cabinets.

Dishwashers

KitchenAid Dishwasher Problems We Fix

We repair KitchenAid built-in and panel-ready dishwashers, where most calls come down to water that won't leave the tub or a cycle that won't finish.

Dishwasher Not Draining
Likely cause
A clogged filter, a kinked drain hose or a new disposal's knockout plug, then the drain pump or check valve.
Try this first
Clean the filter under the lower spray arm, check the drain hose, and make sure a new disposal's knockout plug was removed.
When to call Aria
If it still won't drain, the drain pump or check valve needs testing.
Dishwasher Not Finishing the Cycle
Likely cause
A hum with no spraying, or a cycle that stops early, can point to the wash motor or a drain pump that doesn't engage every time.
Try this first
Turn the power off for 30 seconds, then start a new cycle.
When to call Aria
If it keeps stopping, we test the motor, the pump and their wiring.
Dishes Not Drying
Likely cause
Low rinse aid or the dry setting, then the heating element or vent fan.
Try this first
Fill the rinse aid and check the dry setting. A full dispenser lasts about a month.
When to call Aria
Run a 1-hour cycle with Heat Dry on. If the dishes don't come out warm, the heating element needs service.
Dishes Still Dirty
Likely cause
Usually a clogged filter.
Try this first
Clean the filter. KitchenAid recommends about once a month, or every two weeks with daily use.
When to call Aria
If dishes stay dirty with a clean filter, the spray arms or wash pump need testing.

Seeing a code? See KitchenAid dishwasher codes

Greasy water standing around the filter in an open dishwasher

Good to know

Plastics hold droplets and may need towel drying, so load them on the top rack. Thin or delicate plastics can warp on heated dry, so use air dry for those.

KitchenAid also advises against pre-washing dishes, since detergent on already-clean dishes can leave a permanent white etching. A dishwasher cleaner about every 30 days helps prevent film and odours.

Microwaves · Range hoods

KitchenAid Microwave and Range Hood Problems We Fix

We repair KitchenAid over-the-range, built-in and drawer microwaves, plus KitchenAid range hoods.

Microwave Not Heating or Not Turning On
Likely cause
Door switches and internal fuses are common causes.
Try this first
Make sure Control Lock is off and, on some models, Demo Mode, which runs the light, fan and turntable without heating. Then heat a cup of water on high for one minute.
When to call Aria
If the water stays cold, book a visit. Please don't open the housing yourself, since microwaves can hold a charge after unplugging.
Turntable Not Turning
Likely cause
Debris on the hub or rollers, or a worn turntable motor.
Try this first
Lift out the turntable, clean the hub, support and rollers, and seat it again.
When to call Aria
If it still won't turn, the motor needs testing.
Range Hood Loud or Weak
Likely cause
A clogged filter makes a hood loud and weak.
Try this first
Clean the metal grease filters in the sink or the dishwasher. KitchenAid suggests about monthly if you cook every day.
When to call Aria
If it's still loud or weak with clean filters, the fan motor needs testing.
Hood Not Clearing Smells
Likely cause
On recirculating hoods, the charcoal filter isn't washable and lasts up to about six months.
Try this first
Replace the charcoal filter if it's due.
When to call Aria
If a new one doesn't help, book a visit.
Open microwave with a cold mug of coffee on the turntable

Good to know

On KitchenAid induction cooktops with a downdraft vent, a filter light usually comes on after about 20 to 30 hours of cooking, so clean the grease filter when you see it.

Repair or Replace Your KitchenAid?

A simple rule of thumb, then the factors that change it. More on this: repair or replace your appliance and oven repair cost: repair or replace?.

Under about halfand the rest in good shape: repair it.
Over about half, or other problems building upIt's a bigger decision. We give you the price so you can weigh it up.

Age & condition

An older appliance with several problems is a different call from a reliable one with a single failure.

Type of failure

Pumps, elements, sensors, fans, igniters and gaskets usually come in well under half the cost of a new KitchenAid.

Our 2 year old Electrolux washing machine started glitching and would stop and display several error codes during the drain cycle (full of water and wet clothes). I called Electrolux and their technician determined that the drain pump needed to be replaced, but it would have taken about a week for them to receive the part and come back to install it.

We decided to call Joe at Aria Appliance Repair after a friend recommended him. Joe came out, tested the pump, got the washer to drain and found that the pump was actually working. He spent more time testing the machine and eventually determined that the main control board was the problem. He came back the next day with the new board, installed it, and tested the washer twice to make sure everything was working properly.

I've since run several loads with no issues. We were really impressed with Joe's knowledge and troubleshooting. He was able to properly diagnose the problem when the manufactures technician had misdiagnosed it. Definitely recommend Joe and Aria Appliance Repair.

What does F9E1 mean on a KitchenAid dishwasher?
On many models, F9E1 means a long drain time. If it returns after you've cleaned the filter and checked the hose, note whether water stays in the tub and whether it happens every cycle. Tell us when you book, so your technician knows whether to start with the drain pump or the check valve.
What does F7E2 mean on my KitchenAid dishwasher?
On many models, F7E2 points to a wash motor fault. That's the motor that pushes water through the spray arms. You may hear a hum with no spraying, or the cycle may stop early. This isn't a homeowner fix, because the motor and its wiring need proper testing. Note the code and book a visit so we can check it.
How do I read the flashing Clean light on my KitchenAid dishwasher?
The pattern repeats with a pause, so watch one full round. Write down the long and short counts with your model number, found on the door edge or inside wall. If the light stops after a power-off and then returns, note that too.
What do F3E1 and F2E1 mean on a KitchenAid oven or stove?
On many models, F3E1 points to the oven temperature sensor, its wiring or the control reading it, so the oven may heat too much, too little or not at all. F2E1 points to the keypad or touch controls, often buttons that stop responding. In both cases, we test the part before replacing anything, so you don't pay for guesses.
My KitchenAid oven shows F9E0. Can you fix it?
On many models, F9E0 means the home's power supply to the oven is wired wrong. That isn't an appliance fault, so it isn't something we repair. Switch the oven off at the breaker and have an electrician check the household wiring before you use it again. Once the wiring is corrected, we can help with any appliance problem left over.
Is it worth repairing a KitchenAid, or should I replace it?
KitchenAid appliances cost more to replace than most brands, so repair often makes sense. A simple rule: if the repair costs less than about half of a comparable new appliance and the rest of the machine is in good shape, repair it. We give you the exact price before any work begins, so you can decide with real numbers.
Do you repair built-in KitchenAid fridges and wall ovens?
Yes. We repair built-in and panel-ready KitchenAid fridges, single and double wall ovens, and combination units. Built-in appliances are heavy and fitted tight to your cabinets, so we work on them in place wherever possible and take care around the surrounding cabinetry. Tell us it's a built-in model when you book, so we plan the visit properly.
Can you still get parts for older KitchenAid appliances?
We test first, then confirm the exact part your KitchenAid needs and the price before any work begins. If that part has to be ordered, we tell you the expected timing up front and book the return visit with you, so you can decide with all the facts. Having the model number ready, from the door edge or inside wall, speeds this up.
How much does a KitchenAid repair cost?
Diagnostic regularly $129, now $99, and always waived when Aria does the repair. After testing, your technician gives you the exact price for the repair before any work begins, so there are no surprises. If you'd rather not go ahead, you only pay for the diagnostic. We accept cards, debit, cash, PayPal and Apple Pay.
What warranty comes with a KitchenAid repair?
If your appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with KitchenAid first. Aria Appliance Repair is independent and not affiliated with KitchenAid. Every completed KitchenAid repair comes with a 1-Year Parts & Labour Warranty. Questions about it? Call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM.
How do I book a KitchenAid repair?
Book online and choose your appliance, then pick a day and an arrival window that suits you, and we confirm your booking. You can also call 1-888-642-0352, Mon–Sun 8 AM–10 PM. It helps if you have the model number and any code or flash pattern ready, so we can plan for the right parts.
Do you serve my area for KitchenAid repair?
We serve all of Vaughan, including Woodbridge, Maple, Kleinburg, Concord and Thornhill. If you're just outside Vaughan, the answer is often still yes. Call 1-888-642-0352 to confirm your address before you book, and we'll let you know right away. Installation of a new KitchenAid appliance is also available, from $129.
